Citation of Akan Bassey

Akan Akan Bassey is a native of Ubodung Village of Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State, but born a citizen of Cross River State. He born in Cross River State, went to primary school, secondary school and university in Calabar, Cross River State.

Akan Akan Bassey is the second child and the only son to his parents, late Elder A. Akan Bassey and Deaconess Ernest Akan Bassey. His father was, before his death, a Principal Assistant Registrar (PAR) in University of Calabar, Calabar, Cross River State. He retired from government service before in 2010, and he died on 8th September 2015 after a brief illness. He was celebrated and buried in 2016 February 6th.

Akan Bassey (jnr) was born on 27th April, 1980 in Calabar, Cross River State. He was born into a Christian home. And he was also brought up in the christian fold. He was baptized in the year 2000 and received the Right Hand of Fellowship into The Apostolic Church Nigeria in 2001.

Akan Bassey went to Government Primary School Mayne Avenue, Calabar, Cross River State and got his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1993. In that same 1993, he was admitted up to JSS 3 in Pinn Margret Secondary Commercial School, Atakpa Street, Calabar, Cross River State. He was latter enrolled in Emilis Secondary Commercial School, now Emilis Schools where he finished and obtained his Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

In 2014 he got admission to study Social Studies in University of Calabar, Calabar, Cross River State where he graduated in 2008. Due to his early family establishment, he declined to go to compulsory national service, NYSC (National Youth Service Corps). In 2010, he applied for his B.Ed degree and was signed and issued in 2017.

In 2015, Akan Akan Bassey was elected as an Elder in The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Calabar Field; and in 2016 April 22, he officially made marital vow with his wife and in May, 2016 he was allowed to sit in the church platform. In early 2017, he was ordained (anointed) with other of his colleagues making him full committed elder of the Apostolic Church Nigeria, as a part time worker in the vineyard of God at Ikot Omin District Headquarters of the church.

In 2017 July, he conceived the vision of starting an institution, and in August, 2017 he initiated and started a summer lesson. In September 11th, 2017, Elder (Sir) Akan Bassey founded an international school, Gladden's International Schools. He is the School Director and Chief Executive Chairman of the Supreme Council of Gladden's International Schools, Calabar.

Akan Akan Bassey is married to Mrs Gladys Moses Ibitt (Gladys Akan Bassey) and his marriage is blessed as at December, 2019 with Three (3) loving and intelligent children: Ernest Akan Bassey (jnr), Umoh Akan Bassey (jnr) and Marvelous Akan Bassey.

Akan Bassey is also the founder of youth organization, Green Guide Volunteers of Nigeria, a uniformed youth based organization. Green Guide was established on the 4th of April, 2004, the same year he started University of Calabar, Calabar. He became, the Comptroller General of the Association till now. This led him to join, as an affiliate, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), a key and prominent member of Voluntary Organizations in the state.

Akan Bassey has also established two businesses, Advance Brain Computers (popularly known as Brain Digital Company), a computer school training people for Award of Diploma Certificate , a company specializing on Publishing, Printing, Designing, etc; and Braindo Studios (which also specializing on production of musics and videos: from beats, voicing, mixing and production). He is a graphic designer and a printer. Also, Akan Bassey is a web content developer.

Elder (Sir) Akan Bassey is the first person to bring a Study Centre of Steady Flow College of Education, Akparabong, Ikom Local Government Area to Calabar, Cross River State. His school was approved as one of the Study Centres for the Award of National Certificate in Education (NCE). Steady Flow College of Education has metaphor to Steady Flow University in another location in still in Ikom Local Government Area. A college and University approved by higher authority of the country to award NCE and degrees certificates

Elder (Sir) Akan Bassey is a social and rational human being. He is a sympathizer who love to support who ever cry for assistance. He is very strict in his dealings, he is quick to disengage relationship once you introduce insult. He is Human Right Activist, and philanthropist and vision supporter.

He is not a saint, so, do not judge him as the worse sinner. He has the Grace of God to come out from every trouble coming his way. He is an Area Evangelist of the Apostolic Church Nigeria, Ikot Ekpo Area.
